A Little Bit of Sunshine welcomes five new trustees

Mental Health Charity A Little Bit of Sunshine (ALBOS UK) welcomes five new trustees.

The appointments come at a crucial time as ALBOS UK expands its initiatives and partnerships to improve mental health outcomes for young people. The new trustees will play a pivotal role in guiding the charity’s strategic direction, ensuring that young people remain at the forefront of mental health advocacy and support.

Jamie Burrell, Chair of the Board of Trustees at A Little Bit of Sunshine, said:

“We are delighted to be welcoming five exceptional leaders to our Board. Our five new trustees stood out in a highly competitive field, and I have thoroughly enjoyed leading this year’s search process and hearing from so many talented people excited by our mission to improve the lives of young people. I can't wait to work alongside our new trustees as we lead ALBOS UK on the next stage of its journey as a charity.” 

Our new trustees joining the board are:

Tom Yeadon

As the Operations Manager at the Social Research Association, Tom is responsible for the day-to-day  running of the professional body's services and operations, including membership, training, and support for social researchers across the UK.

I’m excited to join ALBOS UK because supporting young people’s mental health is an issue both crucial and underserved, and this role offers a chance to make a significant difference. I’m inspired by the charity’s young person-led model, and I look forward to helping to shape solutions and drive positive change” - Tom Yeadon

Lucy Shapley

Lucy graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2023 with degrees in History and Philosophy and Religion, Politics and Society. She quickly joined the NHS Graduate Management Training Scheme (GMTS) in the policy and strategy specialism.

I can't wait to get started as a Trustee of ALBOS UK and help develop the charity's strategic vision. It is an exciting and important time to be in the mental health space and I look forward to seeing the charity grow and influence, and, most importantly, support more young people.” - Lucy Shapley

Sarah Darragh

Sarah’s career within the leisure industry spans over nineteen years and includes various sectors including leisure centres, Sports Clubs, Non-Governmental Bodies, Training and Development, and youth charities.

I am really excited to be joining ALBOS UK because of the profound impact the charity will have on young people. Mental health is a critical issue that affects us all, and I believe that A Little Bit of Sunshine and my contributions to it can help to bring support and resources to all young people” - Sarah Darragh

Lucy Bargh

Lucy is a third year medical student at Keele University. Lucy brings a unique and valuable experience to the board through her educational and professional life.

Susannah Bramwell  

Susannah is an arts producer working across live performance, events, and participatory projects. She is passionate about socially driven, accessible and interdisciplinary programmes.

I am delighted to be joining ALBOS UK as a Trustee in their exciting second year, and to support their continued growth as an organisation making real impact. I am particularly looking forward to helping ALBOS UK navigate the delivery of their upcoming youth advocacy programmes, which are so vital for young people.” - Susannah Bramwell
