Who we are

A Little Bit of Sunshine is a forward-thinking mental health charity dedicated to transforming how young people engage with and shape mental health support.

We were founded on the belief that young people hold valuable insights into their own needs, we aim to bridge the gap between young people and decision-makers, advocating for a mental health support system that’s both effective and attuned to the real-world challenges faced by young people today.

We operate through a blend of mental health education projects, social action projects, and advisory programmes that place young people at the heart of mental health reform. By equipping young people with the skills, knowledge, and opportunities to influence decisions affecting them, we enable them to become active participants in shaping services that are responsive and accessible.

We are the youth-led mental health charity working to integrate youth voice in mental health and wellbeing support. Our mission is to secure a brighter future for young people by creating a platform for them to shape the services they access.

Together, we champion meaningful change for a world where every young person feels valued and empowered to seek support when they need it. We want to help young people have a say in decisions that affect them.

Our work focuses on placing young people in the driving seat, through our new strategy: Support, Engage, Influence!

  • Support - We provide support to young people looking for help with their mental health, signposting and helping them to access services.
  • Engage - We're working to improve the wellbeing and support services for children and young people through youth advocacy projects and programmes.
  • Influence - We're working to promote the importance of youth voice within mental health and health education policy at a local, regional, and UK level.
