Support, Engage and Influence: How we make a difference

We're the youth-led mental health charity working to integrate youth voice in mental health and wellbeing support.

We believe in a world where every young person feels confident to be able to access appropriate support for their mental health. Right now, across society, young individuals face a myriad of challenges, and their voices often go unheard. We want to change that fact.

Our Mission

We exist to create an accessible platform for young people to shape mental health services. We want to provide young people with the resources, services, and opportunities that they need to have positive mental health in a safe and secure environment.

Our 'ALBOS' Values

  • We will be accessible and provide fair and open access to volunteer opportunities and support services in our communities.
  • We will be leaders, motivating ourselves and others to meet our aims and support the young people we serve.
  • We will be belonging, creating and fostering an inclusive culture of support and acceptance for everyone involved with the charity.
  • We will be open minded, taking on board other people's ideas to ensure we meet our aims.
  • We will be selfless, acting with less concern for ourselves and more for the success of the charity and our mission as a whole.

Our areas of work

A Little Bit of Sunshine works in three ways:

Support - We provide support to young people looking for help with their mental health, signposting and helping them to access services.

Engage - We're working to improve the wellbeing and support services for children and young people through youth advocacy projects and programmes.

Influence - We're working to promote the importance of youth voice within mental health and health education policy at a local, regional, and UK level.
