You do not need any previous research experience to take part. We are looking for young people who are curious, motivated, and interested in making a difference.
You must be 16-22 years old and living, studying, or working in Nottinghamshire to apply.
Payment and Time Commitment
Successful applicants will receive £100 for taking part in the project. Participation will be flexible, and the number of hours required will vary throughout the project. Some weeks, there may be no activities scheduled. We ask that peer researchers commit to a minimum of 15 hours across the project.
About the Project
We are launching an exciting new peer research project that seeks to understand why young men are less likely to access support for their mental health. We want to identify the real barriers that young people face and co-develop practical and youth-informed solutions that can shape more inclusive local services in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. A Little Bit of Sunshine has been commissioned by Nottinghamshire Public Health to run this project.
Main responsibilities
As a Peer Researcher, you will:
- Work as part of a team of 10 young people aged 16–22 from across Nottinghamshire
- Learn about research and help design the project
- Speak with young people and gather views and experiences about mental health support
- Explore the barriers that can prevent young men from seeking or accessing help
- Analyse your findings and help create a report
- Present recommendations to service leaders and Nottinghamshire Public Health
Why Join Us?
This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a charity that is making a difference in the mental health landscape for young people.
